The 2009 album supplement pages for our album should be ready this week. We are now accepting orders for this. This years version is 39 pages, and the cost will be $19.50 plus $3.00 shipping (and $1.75 if the order is under $50). California residents also need to remember to add 8.75% sales tax.
Another 2009 issue has surfaced. It is a souvenir sheet which was a freebie in the 2009 year sets from the CNSC. It contains 4 of #3750 (national flag special use stamps) with a large label between the two vertical pair of stamps. We are guessing the first day of issue will be Dec 31 but have no way yet of finding out. We have ordered some of these from our supplier in Beijing. It has been added to the price list at the end of the 2009 listings as tentative Scott number 3750a.
We also somehow missed the Scott listed sheetlet #3572a. Supplies of these are also on the way. We will also be making an album page for it in next years supplement pages (2010).
We assumed that our rising PRC prices would, at least for a while, shut down the orders from dealers in China. Actually this has not been the case, and over the past week we have received very substantial orders at the new prices. Things must really be hectic in the philatelic market inside China!
We managed to obtain a small but very nice selection of MLO's which will be added to the price list once they arrive.
Another previously unknown 2007 issue recently surfaced. It is a sheetlet of 4 of #3583 with the normal labels. To distinguish this from the existing #3583 sheetlet we are calling it a souvenir sheet. It is in stock but these did not arrive in time to make it into the 2009 supplement pages, we will make an album page for it in next years supplement pages (2010).
The new Scott numbers have been assigned to our online price lists for all the issues through October 2009, and the 2009 mint year sets have been added to the price list.
As of January 1, 2010, all international insured mail needs to have a full customs declaration attached to the outside of the envelope. The only way to avoid customs is to pay for the order with cash or a postal money order and have it shipped via uninsured airmail. The reason given for the change is to make sure nobody here in the USA is aiding international terrorism via the postal system.
The new price lists for 2010 contain some pretty hefty price increases on a number of issues as a result of hot worldwide demand for PRC stamps. We (and the editors at Scott) have been carefully watching the developments in the auction market. A high percentage of the material which is out of stock will have massive price increases so if you can find any of this material with our competitors, now is the time to buy. Most of the increases will be in pre-1982 unified issues, but the market is bringing out a smattering of the regionals which are setting record prices. Our printed price lists seem to be outdated a few minutes after they are printed which is frustrating. Our Terms of Sale have always been that prices may change without notice so our web-site prices are always the latest ones and supersede any of those on the current printed price lists.
We recently acquired a rare pair of PRC 1L50 imperf between. Yang lists this variety for 1L50a and 1L50b but not for the black surcharge - both at $225. This pair has a large inclusion in the paper (not that unusual for regional issues) at the bottom right corner of the pair. This has been added to supplement regional list along with a photo (if you click on the catalog number).
Not too long ago we discovered a newly published CD catalogue for Manchurian Local Overprinted issues. It has the stamp pictures in color, and they are listed alphabetically by region. No catalogue numbers. This should be a great supplement to the Kerr catalogue aiding in stamp identification, and a must for all MLO collectors. Details on the MLO price list.
Reminders
The #3769-72 sheetlet is a bit too big to fit on one of our album pages. If you ordered one thinking there would space for it on the new pages (which we had announced) and this is now a problem for you, please feel free to return it for a refund. It is still a valid 2009 issue - just no place to mount it.
The new 2009 Yang PRC Catalogues (unified issues only) are available. Please see the Yang catalogue link on our home page for details about ordering.
There has been a run on the SARS stamp (#3275) and our only stock left is in complete sheets which are very scarce. We have removed the singles from our price lists and list only the complete sheet of 12 stamps. You may be able to find a needed single on our supplement list or from one of our competitors. Many Chinese dealers are willing to take all we can supply at $7 (or more) per stamp which was our last singles price.
When sending us a fax make sure your fax machine is set to imprint your fax number on the fax sent. Our machine is set to ignore faxes without the number because of the plethora of junk faxes coming through lately.
Our main email address has changed from fidelitytc@sbcglobal.net to fidelitytc@fidelitytc.com
We still have some of the very scarce complete sets of 20 different 2009 New Year Lottery postcards. Apparently there are a lot of individual cards floating around in the Chinese philatelic market place but not the complete sets. See the stationary price list for these.
We still have a few of the Mianzhu Woodprint New Year silk sheetlets which are offered on the unified supplement list (#3565c). When they are gone that will be the end of them from us unless we would get some low ball offer we could not pass up in the future.
We still have four of the scarce Yang listed PRC money order stamps and still can't find a good place to put them on our online price lists, so, for the time being , they will remain here. We have MO6 at $20, MO7 at $20, MO11 at $10, and MO14 at $40.
A new diversion for Cliff - z scale model trains (see home page for link).
